After hearing about Ritual through friends and seeing their signage in restaurant windows, I thought it was time to try the app out. Some days I don't have the time to wait in line to order food and then wait for it to be prepared (which can take up to an hour a week).
How it Works
Ritual is an app that can be used on your smart phone device as well as on your computer. To work the app you must first create an account and fill in some basic information for your profile. Once you have done that, Ritual will ask you for your address and then provide you with a list of coffee shops and restaurants in your area. Suggestions are listed from closest walking range to furthest and gives you an idea on how far the walk is to each restaurant. Ritual is able to provide their customers with effortless ordering and pick up and time saving at no extra cost!
Ritual works with over 500 restaurants and coffee shops in the Toronto core area.
- King West
- Discovery District
- Liberty Village
- St.Lawrence Market
- Yonge & Dundas
- Financial District
My Experience & Thoughts
I found the entire process of getting started and setting up the app very easy. It was straight forward and didn't ask for any unnecessary information to provide, just basic information such as name, address and payment card info. Everything is organized really well and I loved how they had a "Re-order" option which showed all of your previous purchases at the various restaurants (I have already re-ordered one of my orders twice now).
Selecting and ordering your food couldn't be easier and another great feature that I really liked from the app is that once you have placed your order, Ritual sends you a quick text telling you your next steps now that you have placed your order.
Text I received:
"The Corner Place: The entrance is off Front street - head straight to the bar. Skip the line and tell the staff you're there for your Ritual."
The waiting period for your food is approximately 15 minutes and can sometimes be even faster (if it is, they let you know). Once I got to the restaurant I was able to by-pass the line and they were able to hand me my food with no hassle, it's that easy!
My entire experience with Ritual was great and I already know I am going to be using this app regularly. I really love the convenience and how you can pay on the app once the order is placed, compared to when you call in for take out and then have to go in and wait to pay, which can sometimes take forever. Overall, I give Ritual a Sidewalk Style Approval and I am really excited to continue using it and tryout/experience more new restaurants in my area!
